CPR, AED, and First Aid Training

Valda Gabriel
Founder and CEO
My life was full of uncertainty when I migrated from the island of Dominica to the United States of America. However, I knew I had one goal: to make a difference for myself and the people I encountered on my journey. Eventually, I became an Early Childhood provider. While this was uncharted territory for me, my love for children and teaching fueled my dedication to my newfound career. I have worked for more than 20 years in the field of Early Childhood Education. With the knowledge that the Department of Early Education and Care requires annual certification, I thought it imperative that providers have access to quality CPR/First Aid training. Safety being my number one priority, I decided to get certified as a CPR and First Aid instructor. Since becoming an instructor, one of my primary duties includes training educators in the field (at their location).
Rev. Bria Belim
Instructor and COO
I am Reverend Bria Belim. I began helping with A Second Chance by going to the trainings and helping Ms. Valda set up the equipment and clean up the equipment. One day, Ms. Valda asked if I would want to be in instructor. I said yes and took the CPR/First Aid/AED Instructor Class with the American Red Cross. Shortly after taking the CPR/FA/AED Instructor Class, I took the Basic Life Support Instructor Class. I passed both classes. Aside from working with A Second Chance, I am an ordained clergy and pastor. Lets save lives not only spiritually but also physically.

"We are all hoping that we do not have to utilize these skills, but it is required that providers and educators alike, acquire these skills and then feel confident in implementing them if and when the need arises.”
